Buck Rogers

I was perusing the DVD section of the Sam's Club a few months ago and came across Buck Rogers in the 25th Century the complete series (1979-1981). They had this set for around $18 (as I remember). When it was first released it was about $75. Don't ask why I know that. I actually loved this show when it was on, maybe it was reruns, if not I was only five years old when it came out. I remember loving this show when it was on, so I purchased it at the Sam's and hadn't slid it in the DVD player until last night. I have to say it was quite similar to what I remember - maybe a bit groovier. The disco dancing does distract somewhat from the already feeble plot attempts, but it's still a fun show - similar to the old Battlestar Galactica only with Erin Gray and Pamela Hensley. As a little kid I must confess my favorite part of the show was the lovable robot sidekick of Twiki voiced by the wonderful Mel Blanc (Daffy Duck / Bugs Bunny / Porky Pig / Tweety / Sylvester / Foghorn Leghorne / Pepe LePew / Marvin Martian / Speedy Gonzales / Yosemite Sam / Road Runner / Wile E. Coyote / the Dad on Strange Brew). Although I probably wouldn't recommend most people NetFlix this, it is a fun jaunt into the 25th century, or at least 79-81.

We really need a post about LOST. Is it going to be affected by the strike? What have you heard from JJ? We went to Globe AZ on Friday. Isn't that where or close to where you grew up. We stopped at a store and there wasn't really any parking except next to the train track. Who knew trains still went through there, but if we were a foot closer, the car would have been toast.
